Services: 1:00pm Thursday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson.

Funeral services for Charles F. Steward will be 1:00 pm Thursday October 30, 2003 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson, Iowa. Interment will be at the Junction Township Cemetery in Grand Junction, Iowa. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 9:00 am to noon, at the funeral home.

Charles F. Steward, son of Roy and Regina O’Connell Steward, was born on February 20, 1916 in Dana, Iowa. He studied agriculture at Iowa State University. Charles enjoyed farming and was a Past National President of the Future Farmers of America.

He was a true steward of the land.

Charles also owned and operated Steward Construction Company and the Emerald Isle Truck Stop, Highway 6, at Waukee, Iowa. He retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after 20 years of service.

Charles F. Steward, 87, died of congestive heart failure at Greene County Medical Center on Sunday October 26, 2003. Preceding him in death were his wife, Marian and son, Tully.

Survivors include his daughter, Tootie Steward and son-in-law Max Crabbs of Arnolds Park, Iowa and his sister, Grace Miller, of Jefferson, Iowa.
