John Edward Buchmann
John Edward Buchmann was born January 17, 1919
in Hortonville, Wisconsin to Effie Miller and John E. Buchmann,
Sr. John attended high school in Hortonville, then moved to Chicago
after graduation and learned the building trade starting at the
bottom, working his way up to being a Superintendent on many large
commercial projects.
John was a veteran of WW II, serving in the European
theatre for four years.
John E. Buchmann died November 28, 2003 at the
Greene County Medical Center. He was 84 years of age.
Survivors include John’s wife, Jessie of
Jefferson, IA; one daughter, Gratia of Phoenix, AZ, one sister:
Norma Sternicke of Sugar Loaf, CA; three step-daughters: Nicki Mayhew-Will
of Phoenix, AZ; Karen Eason of Jefferson, IA; and Candy Brown-Miller
of Memphis, TN; two granddaughters: Helene Lenzing of Kelowna, British
Columbia; and Beth Matthew of Chandler, AZ; four grandsons: Steve
Perry of Idaho City, ID; Chris Perry of Colorado Springs, CO; Jon
Perry of Decatur, IL; and Bret Giltner of Waukesha, WI; 9 great-grandchildren:
Jacob Matthew, Megan Massengale, Stephanie Perry, Jake Hotchkiss,
Kristin Perry, Jonathan Perry, Curtis Giltner, Jessi Giltner, and
Kirstin Giltner; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and
seven sisters.
