Ora “Dean” Clark was born March 7, 1929 in Jefferson, Iowa. He was the son of Ora M. Clark and Margaret Marie Franklin Clark.

Dean graduated from Jefferson High School. He entered the United States Army on April 3, 1951 and received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars and United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 19, 1953.

Dean was married to Shirley Sims on May 8, 1954 at the Grand Junction Presbyterian Church. They became the parents of 4 children.

Dean was a cabinet maker and owned Clark’s Cabinet & Millwork from 1961 until his retirement. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Jefferson.

Dean Clark died December 18, 2003 at his home in Jefferson. He was 74 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant granddaughter, Melanie Goodrich.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Clark of Jefferson, IA; three daughters: Sheri Heisdorffer and her husband Duane of Hedrick, IA; Cindy Goodrich and her husband Doug of Coralville, IA; Sandy Durbala and her husband Mike of Grinnell, IA; one son: David Clark and his partner Sam Elias of Sherman Oaks, CA; 11 grandchildren; one brother: Dale Cark of Weslaco, TX; one sister: Jeanette Hunt of Fort Dodge, IA; other relatives and many friends.
