Agne Margaret Snow

Funeral Services for Agne Snow, 88, of Jefferson, will be 2:00pm Saturday September 11, 2004 at the Central Christian Church in Jefferson. Interment will be at the Jefferson Cemetery.

Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson between 9am – 9pm Friday. There will be a 7:00pm Prayer Service Friday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, followed by visitation with the family until 9:00pm.



Agne Margaret Snow, youngest daughter of Carl and Anna (Johnson) Anderson, was born November 28, 1915 a mile south of Farlin in Bristol Township, Greene County, Iowa.

Agne was united in marriage to Wayne Snow on January 14, 1939 at the Christian Church parsonage by Rev. Dwight Walker. Agne and Wayne were the parents of 5 children: Wilma Kay, Margaret Ann, Thomas Wayne, John Irwin and Robert William.

Agne and Wayne made their home in Jackson Township for over 27 years. Agne was a home maker and farm wife. She loved to garden.

When Wayne gave up farming due to his health, the family moved to a house in Hardin Township where they were living at the time of Wayne’s death on November 26, 1968. Agne and her sons Tom and John moved into Jefferson two years later.

Agne was employed in the dietary department at the Greene County Medical Center for 15 ½ years. She retired July 1, 1983.

Agne Snow was a member of the Central Christian Church, where she and been the church clerk, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, circle leader, CWF president, and president of Church Women United. She was a member and Past Noble Grand of the Farlin Rebecka Lodge #411 until it disbanded.

Agne Snow died September 8, 2004 at the Greene County Medical Center. She was 88 years of age. Preceding her in death were parents; her husband; stillborn son Robert William Snow; two sisters: Ruth Borgeson, and Esther Burrows; four brothers: Arthur, Albert, and Harold and James Anderson

Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Kay Taylor of Jefferson, IA and Margaret Ann Snow of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons: Thomas Snow and his wife Pat of Boone, IA and John Snow and his wife Florey of Spencer, IA; 8 grandchildren: Cathy Parslow, Micki Tallman, Kristen Taylor, Kristofer Taylor, Pamela Snow, Robert Snow Alicia Snow and Holly Snow; 5 great-grandchildren: Veronica, William III, and Ian Parslow, and Matthew and Andrew Tallman; other relatives and friends.
