Memorial services for DeVee Lindsey, 89, of Jefferson, Iowa will be at 11:00am Wednesday February 25, 2004 at Slininger-Rossow Chapel, Jefferson, Iowa. Interment will be at a later date at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa.

Visitation with the family will be from 7:00- 8:00pm Tuesday evening, February 24, 2004, at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, Iowa.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Long Term Care Unit at the Greene County Medical Center, Jefferson, Iowa.

Marion DeVee Linder Lindsey, daughter of Floyd Erret Linder and Jennie Gertrude Lee Linder, was born on June 19, 1914 at Cooper, Iowa.

DeVee, as she became known to her family and friends, grew up on farms in the Cooper area. She attended rural schools and graduated from Jefferson Community School in1931.

DeVee worked for several years as a clerk in stores in Jefferson, her last job was at Smith Grocery Store.

On November 2, 1941, DeVee married Dean Lindsey in Yuma, Arizona. They were the parents of one son, Dee. The couple lived in San Diego, California for three years and then returned to Jefferson where they have since lived. DeVee became a resident of the Long Term Care Unit of the Greene County Medical Center in 1998. DeVee was a member of the Central Christian Church in Jefferson.

DeVee died at the Greene County Medical Center on February 22, 2004 at the age 89 years. Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Pauline Junn Lopez.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, of Jefferson, Iowa; one son and his wife, Dee and Wanda Lindsey of Jefferson, Iowa; granddaughter and her husband, Kim and Jason Young of Grimes, Iowa; grandson and his wife, Kevin and Amanda Hebner of Omaha, Nebraska and great-grandchildren, Sophia Young and Madison, Nolan and Paige Hebner.
