Doris (Vanderham) Wilcox passed away on April 14, 2004 at the Greene County Medical Center. Visitation will be held at the home of her daughter, Sue Richardson at 506 South Wilson in Jefferson from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday April 15th. At Doris’s request, a small graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday April 16th at the Jefferson Cemetery.

Doris was born August 3, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa to Dorothy and Leo Vanderham. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and worked as a secretary until her marriage to Lumund Wilcox in 1950. Besides being devoted to her family, Doris volunteered in many school and community activities. She enjoyed traveling and interior decorating, as well as entertaining others.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Lou Titus, and her husband of 47 years, attorney Lumund F. Wilcox. She is survived by her son, Tom Wilcox of Fallbrook, CA, daughter, Sue Richardson and son-in-law, Nick Richardson of Jefferson, IA and grandsons Nate, Josh and Jared Richardson, and her sister, Kay Nation and brother-in-law, Bob Nation of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit or the Webb House.
