Hulda M. Gibson
Hulda
Mae Gibson, daughter of Frank and Fairy Devilbliss Clark, was
born on March 4, 1917 in Huron, South Dakota. Hulda’s family
moved to Panora, Iowa where she attended school and graduated
from Panora High School in 1936.
Hulda was united in marriage to William Louis Gibson on December
22, 1937 in Atlantic, Iowa. The couple lived in the Yale and Bagley
area. She worked in the restaurant in Yale with her husband and
she was an avid seamstress. She was also employed as a nurse’s
aid in Jefferson and Perry.
Hulda was a member of the Jefferson Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors
and AARP.
Hulda Mae Gibson died on September 14, 2004 at the Thomas Rest
Haven Nursing Home in Coon Rapids, Iowa at the age of 87 years.
She had been a resident there since 1999. Preceeding her in death
were her husband, Bill, a son, Jerry, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include her four daughters, Marilyn Dupuy of Desoto,
IA, Beverly Brown Dunkerson of Stuart, IA, Donna Johnson of Coon
Rapids, IA and Connie Urquhart of Des Moines, IA. Also surviving
are two sisters, Wanda Cook of Greenfield, IA and Dorothy Nolan
of Ogden, IA and 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren
and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and
many friends.
