Interment: 4:00pm Wednesday May 5, 2004 at Lakeview Cemetery, Windom,
Minnesota
Visitation after 10:00am Tuesday, and with the family from 7:00
- 9:00pm Tuesday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, IA.
Judy Jean Ford was born May 5, 1943 to Arnold and
Viola (Olson) Higley in Windom, MN. She attended school in Westbrook,
MN but moved to Windom and graduated from high school in 1961. Judy
attended Mankato Commercial College taking secretarial courses.
Judy was united in marriage to Jerry Alan Flaming
in Windom, MN. Born to this union were three daughters: Jeanne,
Pamela, and Brandi. Judy attended Worthington College where she
earned her Associate of Arts degree. She later moved to Minneapolis.
March 7, 1987, Judy was married to Larry Lee Ford
Sr. at the Christian Church in Guthrie Center, IA. They shared a
home in Jefferson until moving to their lake home in Northern Minnesota
in 1994. Judy went to school in Grand Rapids, MN for her CNA training.
She worked in Home Health Care until moving back to Jefferson, IA
in 2001.
After moving back to Jefferson, Judy kept herself
busy by working at Bunker’s Dunkers. Judy belonged to many
clubs including: Canasta, Bridge, Red Hat and the Garden Club. She
was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Jefferson.
Judy passed away Friday, April 30, 2004 at the
Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, IA. She was 60 years
of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Jerry;
and her daughter Brandi.
Survivors include her husband Larry of Jefferson;
daughters Jeanne Lund and her husband Richard of Bloomington, MN
and Pam Erickson of Bloomington, MN; brothers Steve Higley and his
wife JoAnn of Windom, MN, Michael Higley of Fairburn, SD, and Bruce
Higley of Bloomington, MN. She is also survived by her stepchildren
Michele Ott and her husband Mark of Jefferson; Janelle Wright and
her husband Mark of Jefferson; Lori Deason and her husband Chris
of Huxley; and Larry Ford, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Jefferson.
Surviving grandchildren include: Joe and Bailey Lund; Tom and Pearl
Erickson; Cory, Chad, and Katie Ott; Breanna and Addison Wright;
Isaiah and Sydney Deason; and Kayeleigh and Gabriella Ford. Judy
also has nieces, nephews and many friends.
