Lucille Mae Mercer Myers, daughter of Bert Matson Mercer and Bessie Opal Douglas Mercer, was born April 16, 1912 in Bayard, Iowa. Lucille attended school in Bayard. On September 25, 1928, Lucille was united in marriage to Dale Ralph Myers of Bagley. They were the parents of five children. Lucille and Dale farmed in the Bagley area for many years. In 1948 Lucille and Dale moved into Bagley where she lived until June of 2003 when she became a resident of the Bayard Nursing and Rehab Center. Lucille was a member of the Bagley Church of Christ and a charter member of the Amicus Club. Lucille Myers died at the Bayard Nursing and Rehab Center on February 12, 2004 at the age of 91 years, 9 months, and 27 days. Lucille is survived by two sons: Donal Myers and his wife Joanne of Austin, TX; Robert Myers and his wife Eunice of Jefferson, IA; two daughters: Jean Laughery and Nancy Sellers, both of Bagley; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale in 1989; one daughter, Joyce in 1949; two sisters: Ada Latta and Dorothy Whitcomb; one brother, Orville Mercer; and one grandson, Bruce Phillips. Also preceding her in death were son-in-law Rex Laughery, great-great-grandson Richard Charles Riffenberg, and Nancy’s fiancé, Larry Farmer.
