Funeral arrangements for Rachel Fisher, 17, of Dana, will be 10:30am
Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Jefferson. Interment
will be at the Paton Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson
from 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday. From 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Monday visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church
in Jefferson, where the family will be present at the church from
6:30-8:30pm. Also, the Webb House will be open for Rachel’s
friends between 6:30 – 8:30pm Monday.
Memorials in Rachel’s name may be left at Slininger-Rossow
Funeral Home, Jefferson.
Rachel Ellen Fisher, daughter of Michael and Sharon (Marshall)
Fisher, was born June 21, 1987 in Ames, Iowa. Rachel attended
Jefferson-Scranton Community Schools, where she would have been
a senior this year. She was active in the art club and French
club. She had participated on the golf team for three years. During
her freshman year she played the clarinet in band.
Rachel loved animals, especially cats and rabbits. She belonged
to the Greene Emeralds 4-H Club for 8 years. This year she entered
a pottery exhibit at the Iowa State Fair.
Rachel was employed at the Jefferson Pizza Ranch, where she
had worked for over 2 years. This past June, she traveled to France
with the Jefferson-Scranton high school. The trip was a highlight.
Rachel liked listening to music, camping with friends, and shopping.
She treasured the special times she had golfing with her dad.
Rachel Fisher died August 20, 2004 at the age of 17 years. She
was preceded in death by her grandmother Marjorie Gilley Hellman,
grandfather James Roy Fisher, and cousin Pamela Fisher.
Survivors include parents Mike and Sharon Fisher, 2 brothers:
Eric and Lucas Fisher, all of Dana, IA; and grandparents: Lyle
and Hellen Marshall of Jefferson, Shirley Johnson of Norwalk,
and Harold Hellman of Jefferson. Also surviving are many aunts,
uncles, cousins, and many friends.
