On November 10, 1924, George West and Hanna Anna
Zeammer West became the parents of a daughter, Velma, born at Estherville,
Iowa.
Velma married Garold Clark and the couple lived
in Bagley. Velma was member of the Bagley Church of Christ.
Garold died in 1959. Velma worked for many years
as a nurses aide at the Woodward State Hospital.
Velma was married to Charles Konsella and they
made their home in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Velma loved spending time with
her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, painting,
and traveling. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary.
Velma Clark Konsella died March 15, 2004 at the
Palo Alto Hospital in Emmetsburg. She was 79 years of age. Preceding
her in death were her parents; her husbands; a daughter, Sheryl
Clark; a stepson, Junior Clark, step-daughter Velma Schultz, and
two brothers, Mervin and Gene West.
Survivors include 4 sons: David Clark of Manson,
IA; Eugene Clark and his wife Jo Ellen of Earlham, IA; Steven C.
Clark of Ayrshire, IA; Joseph P. Clark and his wife Candice of Swea
City, IA; a daughter, Gweneth Jean Kunce of Okoboji; 2 step-daughters:
Terry Tiller of Las Vegas, NV and Donna Burk of Bagley, IA; 39 grandchildren;
38 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Delbert, John, Russell, Merlin
and Donald West and one sister, Dorothy Solverson.
