Funeral services for Anna Morlan, 94, of Jefferson, will be 10:00
am Wednesday March 16, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jefferson,
with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson
after 1:00pm Tuesday. There will be a 7:00pm Vigil for the Deceased,
followed by visitation with the family until 8:00pm.
Anna Elizabeth Morlan, daughter of John and Catherine McDyre
Boyle, was born November 4, 1910 at Cooksville, Illinois. She
was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. The family moved
to Iowa in 1914 to farm near Jefferson.
Anna received elementary education near her home, then attended
high school in Jefferson. On February 7, 1935, Anna was united
in marriage with Harold Morlan. Following their marriage, Anna
and Harold lived in Missouri for a while and later moved to Iowa.
Anna and her husband farmed near Jefferson until Harold’s
health failed. They retired to Jefferson in 1969.
Anna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson.
She died March 12, 2005 at her home in Jefferson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; three
sisters: Mary Bartley, Cecelia Kennedy and Winifred Boyle; and
four brothers: Edward, John, Hugh and William Boyle.
Local survivors include great-niece Lynda (Mrs. LeRoy) Cochran
of Jefferson and great-nephew Barry Moranville of Des Moines.
