Funeral services for Delbert West, 70, of Bagley, will be 10:00am
Friday at the Bagley Church of Christ. Interment will be at the
Dodge Township Cemetery.
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson
after 12 noon Thursday. The family will be present at the funeral
home to greet friends between 7:00 -9:00pm Thursday.
Delbert Fae West was born September 14, 1934 in Estherville,
IA. He was the son of George West and Hannah Ziemer West.
At an early age, Delbert moved to Bagley, where he attended school.
Delbert entered the United State Air Force and fought in the Korean
War. He married Margaret Louvenia Carlton on December 24, 1954,
while stationed in Greenville, South Carolina.
Delbert and Margaret made their home in Bagley, Iowa. Delbert
owned and operated the Bagley Country Store for several years.
He was the Bagley Fire Chief for many years and was a member of
the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Delbert West died May 29, 2005 at his home in Bagley. He was
preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; 2 brothers:
Mervin and Eugene; and a sister, Velma Clark Konsella.
Delbert is survived by his daughter, Linda West of Waukee, IA;
a son, Kenneth West and wife Andrea, of Perry, IA; six grandchildren:
Jaymi, Madelynn, Gabrielle, Keghan, Kathryn and Morgan; a sister,
Dorothy Solverson of Fort Dodge; four brothers: Russell and Merlyn,
both of Des Moines, Donald of Mount Mariah, MO; and John of Yale,
IA.
Memorials are suggested to the Bagley Fire Department or the
American Heart Association.
