Funeral services for E. A. Rector, 22, of Des Moines, formerly of Jefferson, will be 10:30 am Tuesday January 3, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.  Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson after 1:00 pm Monday, January 2, 2006.  The family will be present at the funeral home to greet friends between 5:00 – 8:00 pm Monday. 

Emery Albert “E.A.” Rector, son of Terry Rector and Jana Jones Rector, was born on May 18, 1983, in Boone, Iowa.  E.A. graduated in 2001 from Jefferson-Scranton High School.

E.A. was an outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his friends.  Presently, E. A. was employed as a shop foreman for Perficut Lawn & Landscape in Ankeny.

E.A. Rector died in a traffic accident December 29, 2005.  He was 22 years of age. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carroll Jones and R. E. “Bill” Rector; and three cousins: Cory Jones, Shelly Sward, and Angie Anderson.

Survivors include his mother, Jana Rector and sister Jordi Rector, both of Jefferson, his father, Terry Rector of Colorado; Grandmothers Gloria Jones of Ogden and Theon Rector of Kingsley; Uncle Kent and Ginger Jones of Ogden; Aunt Jodi and Alan Sward of Ogden; Aunt Roxanne and Tom Stauch of Kingsley; Uncle Mike Rector and family; cousins Gina and Scott Church and family; Blane Sward, Jessi Sward; Chris and Lana Jones; Kali Stauch and Tristan Stauch. 

Memorials are suggested to Jefferson Public Library, Jefferson Scranton School Foundation, First United Methodist Church, or the Webb House.
