Gwen Kinney Funeral services for Gwen Kinney, 75, of Jefferson, will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. Interment will be at Richland Twp. Cemetery in Guthrie County. Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson after 12 noon Tuesday. There will be a 7:30 pm Vigil For The Deceased, followed by visitation with the family until 9:00 pm Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
Gwenevere Cain Kinney was born January 27, 1930 on a farm near Bagley, Iowa. She was the daughter of Everett and Pauline (Battles) Cain. Gwen attended school in Bagley. She married Oscar Molle, and the couple made their home in Jefferson. Gwen and Oscar were the parents of a son, Bruce. Oscar died June 10, 1966. Gwen was married to Paul Kinney in 1967 and the couple lived in Jefferson. Paul died April 25, 1997. Gwen loved fishing, camping, and the great outdoors. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. For many years, Gwen worked as a check-out clerk at G&M Grocery. She retired when the store closed. Gwen Kinney died July 2, 2005 at the Jefferson Manor. She was 75 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Oscar, and her husband, Paul; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Molle. Surviving is son, Bruce Molle and his wife Lori of Audubon, IA; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Cain of Panora. |
