Memorial services for Jack Wagers, 74, of Stanberry, Missouri
will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2005 at Slininger-Rossow
Funeral Home in Jefferson, Iowa.
Interment will be at the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM Monday until
the time of the service.
Jack Wagers was born August 26, 1930 at Stanberry, Missouri,
son of Ralph Trueman Wagers and Lillie Mae Reece Wagers. Jack
graduated from Stanberry High School. He was very active in Boy
Scouts throughout his youth. From 1947 - 1955 he served as a member
of the Iowa National Guard in Jefferson, Iowa.
On September 4, 1949, Jack was united in marriage to Norma Irene
Ogren at the Baptist parsonage in Jefferson. They were the parents
of four children: Patricia, Bruce, Debra and David. Jack was employed
by J.C. Penney for 27 years. In addition to the Jefferson store,
he also worked at other stores in Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota,
Minnesota and Wisconsin. After retirement, he and his wife Norma,
owned and operated various small family businesses in Moose Lake,
MN.
Jack died January 25, 2005 at the Heartland Medical Facility
in St. Joseph, MO. He was preceded in death by his loving wife
Norma; his father True Wagers, his brother Rex Wagers and brother-in-law
Charles Gerringer.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia and her husband Steven
Brown of Oconomowoc. WI; son Bruce Wagers and his wife Patricia
of Moose Lake, MN; daughter Debra and her husband Steven Youso
of Hastings, MN; and son David Wagers of St. Louis Park, MN; mother
Lillie Wagers of Stanberry, MO; brother Max Wagers of Topeka,
KS; sister Sue Gerringer of Del Rio, TX; and sister-in-law Darlene
(Mrs. Rex) Wagers of Chippewa Falls, MI; 8 grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and
many friends. Jack also had an extra large extended family of
close friends, many of whom called him "Dad" or "Grandpa
Jack".
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
