Memorial services for Keith Burrell, 89, of Jefferson and formerly
of Grand Junction, will be 2:00 pm Wednesday May 11th at First
Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction. A graveside committal service
will be held 11:00am Thursday May 12th at Pilot Grove Cemetery
at Williamsburg, Iowa.
Harold Keith Burrell was born August 19, 1915 in Angus, Iowa.
He was the son of Webber Burrell and Adella Stoker Burrell. Keith
attended country school at Rippey, and attended high school in
Perry, Iowa.
He was married to Ida Howarth in 1936. They were the parents
of three children: Robert, Karen, and Carole. Keith farmed in
the Ogden area, and also in southern Iowa near Promise City. Later
he worked for Northern Natural Gas in Ogden.
In 1960, Keith and his family moved to Conroy, Iowa, where Keith
worked at Amana Refrigeration as a braze operator. He retired
in 1977.
On November 8, 1982, Keith was re-married to Jennie Heimdal
after his first wife had passed away in 1980. Keith and Jennie
lived in Grand Junction, Iowa and then in Mission, Texas. Upon
their return to Iowa in 2004, they lived in Clear Lake, and then
became residents at the Jefferson Manor in late 2004. Keith died
at the Jefferson Manor on May 7, 2005. He was 89 years of age.
Over the years, Keith had attended St. Paul’s Methodist
Church in Williamsburg, Iowa; First Baptist Church in Mission,
TX; and First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction, IA. Keith
loved to fish and camp. He was a Charter member of Iowa County
Campers and Hikers Association.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife,
Ida; three sisters and one brother.
Surviving Keith’s death are his wife, Jennie Burrell of
Jefferson, IA; one son: Robert Burrell and his wife Carolyn of
Victor, IA two daughters: Karen Weigand and her husband Steve
of Cedar Rapids, IA and Carole Jones and her husband John of Coralville,
IA; 11 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;
7 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; other relatives
and friends.
