Lillian Subbert

Funeral services for Lillian Subbert, 93, former
Paton resident, will be 10:30am Monday at Holy
Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville. Interment
will be at Paton Township Cemetery.
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home,
Jefferson after 10:30am Sunday. The family will
be present at the funeral home to greet friends
between 2:00 – 4:00pm Sunday.
Lillian Caroline Marie Subbert was born August 30, 1911 at Lidderdale,
Iowa. She was the daughter of Carl Walther and Amelia Borcharding
Walther.
Lillian grew up in Lidderdale and attended the
Lutheran school.
On April 20, 1932, Lillian was united in marriage
to Arthur Jochim Subbert at the Lutheran Church
in Lidderdale. They began farming south of Jefferson,
and then moved to the Paton area where they lived
and farm for most of their married life. In 1953,
Lillian and Arthur moved into Paton. Arthur worked
for the city of Paton until 1979.
Lillian was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church in Farnhamville. Lillian liked to fish.
She was an avid baseball and auto racing fan.
She loved to read and pay solitaire
Lillian Subbert died February 10, 2005 at the
Jefferson Manor. She was 93 years of age.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her
husband Arthur who died June 27, 1997, three sisters:
Hilda Stoolman, Golda Wenck, and Caroline Buttrick;
two brothers: Elmer Walther and Merlin “Buster”
Walther, and a great-grandson Ty Richards.
Survivors include three sons: Charles and Bonnie
Subbert of Paton, IA Dennis and Sherry Subbert
of Paton; and Jerry and Sharon Subbert of Scranton,
IA; one sister: Margaret Redenius of Fort Dodge,
IA; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren;
10 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at Farnhamville.
