Funeral services for Marie Harjehausen, 88, of Jefferson, formerly of Des Moines, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Cremation will follow the service. Interment will be at a later date at the Jefferson Cemetery. Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, in Jefferson from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson.
Marie E. Harjehausen was born November 16, 1916 in Middle Brook, Missouri. She was the daughter of Tom and Effie Anderson. On March 1, 1948, Marie was united in marriage to Arnold E. Harjehausen. A former employee of American Airlines, Marie has been a devoted homemaker for the past 57 years. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marie and her husband lived in the Des Moines area for many years. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale, Iowa. In 2004 Marie and Arnold moved to Jefferson, Iowa. Marie died March 23, 2005 at the Jefferson Manor, Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and three sisters. Survivors include her husband, retired Brigadier General Arnold E. Harjehausen of Jefferson, IA; three daughters: Joetta Snow of Duluth, MN; Judith Schafer of Ambler, PA; and Katie Richardson and her husband Guy of Jefferson, IA; one son: Edward A. Harjehausen and his wife Sue of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. |
