Funeral services for Nedra Elliott, 83, of Story City, formerly of Jefferson, will be 10:30am Friday May 27, 2005 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, with interment at the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.
Nedra Irene Elliott was born October 22, 1921 at Paton, Iowa. She was the daughter of George Beaty and Mildred Dille Beaty. Nedra graduated from Paton High School and attended cosmetology school. She was self-employed as a beautician for over 35 years. Nedra was united in marriage to John Elliott on June 7, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. Nedra and John were the parents of two daughters, Sheryl and Connie. Nedra was a member of First United Methodist Church, the church guild and the women’s circle. She belonged to Eastern Star, D.O.E.S., Culture Club, Vocation Club, among others. Nedra Elliott died May 25, 2005 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA. She was 83 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother Donald Beaty. Surviving is her husband, John Elliott of Story City, IA; two daughters: Sheryl Pierce and husband Len of Bloomington, MN; and Connie Heim and her husband Donald of Ames, IA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Russell Beaty of Humboldt, IA and Carl Beaty of Packwood, WA; 1 sister: Doris Sallee of Suches, GA; other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames or Bethany Life Community in Story City.
