Funeral services for Paul Boorn, 84, Grand Junction, Iowa will
be 1:00 pm Saturday March 5, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church
in Grand Junction. Interment will be in the Klein Cemetery, Moscow,
Iowa on Sunday. Services on Sunday will be conducted by Bentley
Funeral Home of Wilton, Iowa (563)-785-6152.
Visitation will start at noon on Friday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral
Home in Grand Junction, with family visitation from 6:00-8:00
pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Paul Edward Boorn, son of John and Anna Boorn, was born on August
4, 1920 in Muscatine County, Iowa. He grew up in rural Muscatine
County attending rural school. He worked as a farm laborer.
Paul was united in marriage to Florence Thompson in 1942 in
Muscatine, Iowa. The couple farmed in several locations in eastern
Iowa. Paul was also a trucker for several years and retired from
Nash-Finch.
In 1963, he married Joyce Pettit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In June
1994, he was united in marriage to Beverly Haase at the Presbyterian
Church in Grand Junction. The couple made their home in Grand
Junction, Iowa.
Paul attended First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction.
Paul Edward Boorn died March 2, 2005 at the Greene County Medical
Center in Jefferson. He was 84 years of age. Preceding him in
death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Boorn of Grand Junction,
IA; 4 daughters, Judy Bronner, Joan Marolf, and Connie Fitzer,
all of Wilton, IA and Carol Lee Hall, Wapello, IA; 3 sons, Thomas
Boorn, Moscow, IA; Dennis Boorn, Wilton, IA and Kenny Boorn, St.
Joseph, MO; and one sister, Alice Pace, Muscatine, IA. Also surviving
are 2 step-daughters, Kathy John, Boone, IA and Sharon Riley,
Rippey, IA; 4 step-sons, Kenneth, Rick and Dan Madesen, all of
Grand Junction, IA and David Madesen, Huron, South Dakota; 35
grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
