Funeral services for Velva Danielson, 89, of Jefferson, IA will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 16, 2005 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, IA. Visitation is from 9:00am to 9:00 pm Friday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 8:00pm.

Graveside service will be 3:00 pm Saturday at the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery at Kiron, IA.

Cynthia Velva Neville Danielson, daughter of John and Mary Walker Neville, was born on April 7, 1916 at home in Crawford County, Iowa. She graduated from Odebolt High School in 1937.

On October 5, 1937, Velva was united in marriage to Floyd Danielson in Odebolt, Iowa. They were the parents of four sons and one daughter.

Velva was a member of Eastern Star in Odebolt. She worked at the Arthur Café and Odebolt Modern Inn. Velva enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, reading and camping with her husband, Floyd, and dog, Brandy.

Velva Danielson died on April 13, 2005 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She was 89 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Floyd, in 1983, grandson, Robert “Bob” Danielson in 2003, her sister, Mary Sunshine Brown, an infant sister, Lottie Rose and infant brother, John.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her five children, John (Shirley) Danielson, Sr., Jefferson, IA; Myrna Willis, Irving, TX; Dean (Susan) Danielson, Denison, IA; Gary (Shirley) Danielson, Jefferson, IA; Dale (Elsie) Danielson, Arthur, IA; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Edna Schnezel, Withrow, WA; Florence Messer, Durant, OK and Grace Pair, Ankeny, IA; one brother, George Neville, Odebolt, IA; one sister-in-law, Golden Nelson, Odebolt, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
