Alice Hansen Mary Alice Hansen, daughter of Timothy and Margaret Rogers Fields, was born on October 16, 1911 on a farm near Paton, Iowa. Alice grew up in the Paton area, graduating from Paton High School in 1930. She did domestic work for area farmers for a short time. On February 22, 1933, Alice was married to Raymond Hansen at St. Brigid’s Rectory in Grand Junction, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed in the Paton area all their married life. In 1967, Alice and Raymond moved to Paton into the home that they had built. Raymond Hansen died on February 3, 1992. Alice stayed in her home until 2003 when she moved to the Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit. Alice was a life long member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Paton. Upon the closing of the church in 1995, she became a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and Altar Society in Grand Junction, Iowa. Alice was a charter member of the Greene County Historical Society; had an honorary lifetime membership in the Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary; 61 year member of the C.C. Club; a longtime member of the 1-52 Club and a 10 gallon blood donor. She loved to play cards and dance. Alice Hansen, 94, passed away at the Greene County Medical Center on September 26, 2006. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond; her infant brother, Timothy Fields and her sister, Helen Taylor. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
