Funeral services for Christina Anderson, 95, of Jefferson will be 11:00 AM Monday January 9, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Burial will be in the Highland Township Cemetery, Bayard, Iowa.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

 

Christina Katherine (Schick) Anderson, 95, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, WI on Thursday, January 5, 2006. She was the daughter of John and Suzanna (Schumacher) Schick, born on March 29, 1910, in rural Bayard, Iowa.

Christina was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Coon Rapids. Also, at Trinity she was married to George Anderson on December 2, 1934. They lived in Jefferson almost all of their married life. She worked for Saba’s Bakery, Gately’s Dime Store, Finneseth’s and Walt’s Hallmark. She was a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, quilting, sewing, cooking, traveling and being a friend to many. She currently enjoyed living at Ever Greene Ridge and spent the last 26 years in Wisconsin for the holidays.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hegner, Black Creek, WI; grandson, Grant (Pam) and great-grandchildren, Gage and Cathryn Jane Hegner, Baltimore, MD; her sisters-in-law, Iva Schick, West Des Moines, IA and Mae Honald, Jefferson, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1979; her parents, her siblings; Lizzie, Anna, Henry, Carl and Clara; her son-in-law, George Hegner and grandson, Drew Hegner.

She will be sorely missed by her family, many nieces, nephews and friends.
