Fern Eldean Services for Fern Harriett Eldean, 83, of Casa Grande, AZ were held 2:00 pm Thursday November 30, 2006 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, with burial in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa. A grandson, the Rev. Scott Davis, officiated. Fern was born October 8, 1923 in Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Kuebler and Elsie Woodrum Kuebler. Survivors include 3 daughters: Jean McCarville of Casa Grande, AZ; Judy Sleyko of Porter, TX; Jane Calhoun of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 son: Jerry Averill of Arlington, TX; 1 sister: Darlene Kuebler Walker of Cedar Rapids, IA; 1 brother: Donald Kuebler of Rogers, AR; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Fern hiked to the bottom and back again of the Grand Canyon at the age of 68. She worked as “Rosie the Riveter” for a Munitions Plant and the Lockheed Plant in California to help build P-38 Lightning Fighter Planes. She loved her dog “Annabelle” and her church family. Services at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, Casa Grande, Arizona were held Tuesday November 28, with Pastor Steve Ballew officiating. |
