Harold L. Wampler Harold L. “Harry” Wampler, 53, of Scranton, died at home December 3, 2006. First Assembly of God in Jefferson is arranging a memorial service for Harry at 11:00 am Thursday December 7 at First Assembly of God in Jefferson. Harold Lloyd Wampler was born March 28, 1953 in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Eva (Gray) Wampler. Harry graduated form Scranton High School in 1971. He worked at the Scranton Co-op for several years. On November 11, 1972, Harry was united in marriage to Jane McCollum at the Central Christian Church in Jefferson. Harry and Jane became the parents of two children, Emily and Ray. Harry worked for John Deere in Jefferson for a while. Nearly 24 years ago he began farming. He retired from farming in 2001 and then worked as a truck driver at the Bayard Farmers Co-op. Harry was a member of First Assembly of God in Jefferson. He enjoyed playing his guitar, and fixing things for people. Harry died at his home on December 3, 2006 at the age of 53 years. He was preceded in death by his father Survivors include his wife, Jane of Scranton; daughter, Emily (Robert) Hoyt of Scranton; son, Ray (Libby McAbier) Wampler of Dover, Ohio; three grandchildren: Logan and Olivia Hoyt and Mason Wampler; mother, Eva Wampler of Scranton; two sisters: Pat Follett of Union, IA, and Linda Dunahoo of Iowa City; other relatives and many friends. Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home assisted the family. |
