Max Ebersole Funeral services for Max Ebersole, 57, of Jefferson, will be 10:30 AM Monday November 20, 2006 at Central Christian Church in Jefferson, with burial in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM- 9:00 PM Sunday November 19, 2006 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, with family present to greet friends from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Max’s name to the family. Donel Max Ebersole, son of Donel and Maxine (Francis) Ebersole, was born on March 11, 1949 at Jefferson, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm north of Jefferson where he helped with the farming, trucking business and custom hay baling. In 1968, Max graduated from Jefferson High School. After graduation, he attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge studying Agricultural Business and Elevator Management. In 1973, Max married DeAnn McLain of Lohrville, Iowa. They became the parents of two sons, Adam and Brad. Max was active in 4-H, both as a member and a project leader for the Buckaroo Horse and Pony Club. He enjoyed raising and showing horses, especially Registered Paints. He served as president of the Iowa Paint Horse Club for two years. Max was also active in 4-H horse show and open horse show judging. Max loved to farm and to help his sons with projects, hay baling and raising cattle. His pride and joy was his grandson, Gabe, born in April 2006. Max was employed by Iowa Department of Transportation District One Maintenance of Jefferson and Boone. His past employment included working for grain elevators; construction and concrete companies and seed corn companies. He also assisted area farmers with their field work. Max Ebersole died November 16, 2006 at Jefferson, Iowa. He was 57 years of age. Preceding him in death were his father, Donel Ebersole and his niece, Brenda Sue Johnston. Survivors include his wife, DeAnn Ebersole; son, Adam Ebersole and wife, Lisa; son, Brad Ebersole; mother, Maxine Ebersole; sister, Connie Johnston; and grandson, Gabe Ebersole, all of Jefferson; brother-in-law, Rick McLain and his wife Marti of Kellogg, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested in Max’s name, and may be left at the funeral home. Services were arranged by Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home of Jefferson. |
