Marvin L. Tasler, 75, of Yale, died Sunday, November 19, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.  He donated his body to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy.  Future graveside services will be in Brethren Cemetery at Panora.  No services are planned at this time.

Marvin was born January 25, 1931 in Guthrie County, Iowa, the son of Henry and Dimple (Shell) Tasler.  Marvin graduated from Yale High School.  In July 1950 he entered the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged in December 1953. 

On July 2, 1955, Marvin was married to Katherine Pleshek.  Marvin worked as a clerk in the US Post Office, retiring in 1986.  He loved spending summers in Alaska, hunting, and fishing.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Marty, and a sister, Hazel Vaughn.  Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Katherine of Yale, IA; three sisters: Rosella Honaker of Palmetto, FL; Mary Vaughn of Madrid, IA and Betty Lester of Sheldahl, IA; two brothers: Earl Tasler of West Des Moines, IA and Bob Tasler of Cabot, AR.  The family suggests that memorials be made to the Taylor House at 3401 E. Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317.

Services were arranged by Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.
