Ronald Hoyt
Visitation will start at 8:00 AM Monday October 16, 2006 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, with family present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday evening. Ronald Raymond Hoyt was born on January 2, 1940 in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Raymond Joseph and Ferne Bernice Hoyt. Ron graduated from Bagley High School in 1958 and joined the army. On December 30, 1958 Ron married Marilyn Rae Cain at the Bagley United Methodist Church. Ron was stationed in Germany during his tour of duty. Marilyn joined him the last year before returning home. After leaving the army Ron and Marilyn returned to Bagley to farm and raise a family. They became the proud parents of four children, Brenda, Julie, Teresa and Steven. During their 48 years of marriage they enjoyed their yearly trips to Canada fishing and Las Vegas with friends and family. He also enjoyed golfing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He looked forward to attending his grandchildren's activities. He was a very loving husband and devoted dad and loved spending time with family and friends. Ron was a member of the Bagley United Methodist Church, and served on several Boards over the years. Ron died October 13, 2006 at the age of 66 at Guthrie County Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hoyt and his brother Harris Hoyt. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; three daughters, Brenda Flack and her husband Craig of Jefferson, Julie Burkhardt and her husband Randy of Yale, Teresa McClellan and her husband Scott of Bayard; one son, Steven Hoyt of Bagley, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is survived by his mother Ferne Hoyt of Jefferson, one sister, Vicki Gubser and her husband Bob of Panora, two sisters-in-law, Sandra Becker and her husband Doug of Bagley and Barb Hoyt of Branson, MO. He also leaves behind many friends and family and will be missed deeply. |
