Graveside funeral services for Shirley Sayre were held Wednesday, October 18 at the Scranton Township Cemetery, Scranton, Iowa.  Pastor Waylon Taylor, Glidden, Iowa, officiated.  Services were arranged by Slininger-Rossow Funeral Homes, Inc of Jefferson.

Shirley Ann Sayre was born May 17, 1930 to Edward Sayre and Eddie Combs Sayre at Scranton, Iowa.  Shirley lived her whole life in the Scranton and Jefferson area.  She and her twin sister lived with their parents until her father passed away and then their step-mother moved with the girls to Jefferson, Iowa.  While in Jefferson they worked at Genesis until their retirement. Shirley moved to Cedar Lane Estates after her stepmother went to the nursing home.  Shirley lived at Cedar Lane Estates until 2005 when she moved to CLC in Jefferson.  She died October 16, 2006 at the Greene County Medical Center at the age of 76 years.

Shirley loved to knit and work word puzzles.  She enjoyed going to Camp Sunnyside for many years. Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters: Loretta, Alta and twin sister Sharon; and two brothers: B.J and Lavern.  Shirley is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, also sister-in-law Glennie Sayre of Jefferson.
