Doris Pearl Dunlop was born on October 8, 1919 at home in Scranton, Iowa. She was the third of five girls born to Mabel and Samuel Woodhouse. She graduated from Scranton High School in 1937. She lived with her parents and worked in Scranton until 1940.

Doris married the love of her life, Charles Dunlop, of Jefferson on September 26, 1940. They had 4 children, Dennis, Sandy, Roger, and Chuck. Doris spent her life raising her children, taking care of her husband, and actively participating in the Does and other community organizations and church activities.

Doris was an accomplished painter and was very creative. She enjoyed making porcelain dolls, ceramics, sewing, writing, dancing, entertaining, decorating and feeding the birds. She was active in the Jefferson Does and was its first President. Her most cherished role was that of devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

After her husband died, Doris lived on her own until moving to Regency Park Nursing Home where she died on May 22, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Jessica Dunlop; and a sister, Gwen Mooseberg of Peoria, IL.

She is survived by 4 children; Dennis Dunlop and his wife Sue of DePere, WI; Sandy Raymond of Bothell, WA; Roger Dunlop of Panora and Chuck Dunlop and his wife Sharon, of Clive; three sisters Leah Fengel of Jefferson; Norma Ferguson of Jefferson and Donna Buckley of West Des Moines; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to Iowa Hospice-Panora Team-Equipment Fund, Panora, IA.
