Elsie Moranville Memorial services for Elsie Moranville, 82 of Grand Junction, Iowa will be 10:00 AM Monday June 11, 2007 at Slininger-Rossow Chapel, Jefferson, with burial in Junction Township Cemetery, Grand Junction. Family visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 pm at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson. Elsie Moranville was born December 10, 1924 in Greene County, Iowa, daughter of Harold and Winnie Reed Bradwell. She moved to Grand Junction at one year of age and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1942. After graduation, Elsie worked in Webster City and Fort Dodge for the Fareway Stores, then moved to Freeport, Illinois, where she worked in a defense plant making micro switches that were used to open the bomb bay doors of the bombers during World War II. She returned to Fort Dodge and was employed sewing gloves and Kresges. Elsie was united in marriage to Wayne Moranville of Dana in 1955 at the First Methodist Church in Fort Dodge and then returned to her roots, Grand Junction, where she continued to reside until her death. She was employed at Jim’s Super Value in Jefferson for 25 years, retiring when she was 79 years old. Elsie Moranville died June 6, 2007 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. She was 82 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters: Freda, Dolora, and Naomi; and brothers William, Robert, John, Philip, and Roger. She is survived by her husband Wayne; children Marla Compton of Grand Junction and Roger Moranville of Jefferson; grandchildren Nicole Gohn of Grand Junction; Mike (Shanna) Moranville of Linden; and Ryan Simmer of Madrid; three great-grandchildren, Corey Gohn, Tyler Moranville and Jordan Moranville; three sisters: Bonnie Trupe of Amarillo, TX; Patsy Chalstrom of Coalville, IA and Carla Sorensen of Lame Deer, Montana. |
