Wendy Sue Blackburn Jennings, daughter of Nicholas and Debra Thornburg Blackburn, was born on April 17, 1977.

Wendy graduated from Jefferson-Scranton High School in 1995. She attended Hamilton business College in Des Moines for a year. She was employed in many office jobs; food service and factory jobs over the years.

Wendy married Rickey Jennings on March 3, 2005. To this union, a son, Reese, was born. Wendy loved being a Mom and Reese was the joy of her life.

Wendy Blackburn Jennings died May 1, 2007 at her home in Ogden, Iowa. She was 30 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, Rickey Jennings and son, Reese, both of Jefferson; her parents, Nick and Deb Blackburn, of Jefferson; two brothers, Bart Blackburn, of Algona and Bret Blackburn and his wife, Laura, of Boone; and grandparents, Keith and Darlene Thornburg and Marjorie Blackburn, all of Jefferson. Also surviving are mother-in-law, Val Jennings, of Jefferson; sister-in-law, Angela Jennings, of Jefferson; brother-in-law, Matt Cummings of Jefferson and special friend, Greg Phillips of Ogden; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
