Memorial services for Bob McClelland,80, of Jefferson, formerly of Paton, will be 10AM Monday April 14, 2008 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Paton, Iowa, with burial of cremains in Riverside Cemetery, Rodman, Iowa.

No visitation is planned at this time.

Memorials may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, Paton, Iowa.

 

Bob James McClelland was born February 27, 1928 at Rodman, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Hazel (Carr) McClelland. Bob attended school in Cylinder, Rodman and Emmetsburg, graduating in 1945.

He served in the US Army from 1945-1948 and again during the Korean War from 1950-1951.
Bob married Vivian Vandevanter on August 14, 1954. They were the parents of Carman, Beth and Tim.

Bob worked at various jobs including road grader operator in Colorado Springs, Co., Franklin Manufacturing in Jefferson and road design for the D.O.T.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, his flower gardens, and coin collecting with Tim.
Bob attended church at the First United Presbyterian Church in Paton, serving on several church boards. He particularly enjoyed bible study. Bob was a member of the American Legion and the Lincoln Highway Association. Bob McClelland died April 9, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. He was eighty years of age.

Preceding him in death were his parents Lloyd and Hazel McClelland, his wife Vivian and his son, Tim.

Survivors include two daughters: Carman Tilley and her husband David of Jefferson, Iowa. Beth Greif and her husband Roger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Six grandchildren; Stacy Hardaway and her husband Dan. Jacque Cunningham and her husband Mike, Travis Tilley, Megan Walker and her husband Justin. Jeremiah Burhite and Joshua Burhite. Seven great-grand children; Samantha, Brian and Grace Hardaway, Anthony, Bailey and Chanlyn Cunningham, and Cody Walker.
