Catherine Sellers Funeral services for Catherine Sellers, 87, of Bagley, will be 10:30am Wednesday March 26, 2008 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Interment will be in Richland Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson from 5:00 - 7:00pm Tuesday March 25.2008.
Catherine Isabelle Cross Sellers, daughter of William Lonzo and Carrie Letitia Garmen Cross, was born on March 2, 1921, in Unionville, Iowa; Appanoose County. She attended school in Unionville, completing the 8th grade. On February 24, 1939, Catherine married George Robert Sellers in Bloomfield, Iowa; to this union eight children were born. Catherine was a dedicated wife and mother; excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed decorating cakes, listening to country music, bird watching and her grandchildren were extra special to her. She was a life long member of the Amicus Club in Bagley. Catherine Sellers passed away on March 22, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She was 87 years of age. Preceding her in death were her husband, George Sellers, in 1996; daughter, Carol Jean, in 2004; daughter-in-law, Vicki (Larry) Sellers, in 2003; son, Walter Lloyd Sellers, in 2008; 2 infant grandchildren, Jimmie Sellers and Katie Rose Gilliland; sister, Maggie LaRue Blumer and 2 brothers, Kermit and Toby Cross. Survivors include, Margaret (Kenneth) Garrison, Davenport, IA; Robert Wayne (Sherry) Sellers, Missoula, Montana; Larry Sellers and friend, Denise, Scranton, IA; Mary (Alvin) Clark, Yale, IA; Jane Gilliland and friend, Tom, Farmersburg, IA; and Ruth Riley and friend, Eddy, Yale, IA. Also surviving are daughter-in-law, Vickie (Walter Lloyd) Sellers, Bagley, IA; son-in-law, Rick Nessan, Red Lodge, Montana; 2 brothers, Bob Cross, Hazlehurst, Mississippi; and Joe (Roberta) Cross, Corydon, IA; sister, Ruby (Don) Ewing, Unionville, IA; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with 3 more due; 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren and many more relatives and friends. |
