Memorial services for Erma Arlene Hoskins Mallett, 88, of Evansdale, Iowa, former resident of Scranton, Jefferson and Perry, will be 1:30pm Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, with interment of her cremains at the Jefferson Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable contribution be made in Erma’s memory to an organization of the donor’s choice.

Erma Arlene Hoskins Mallett, daughter of Clarence Hoskins and Hattie Newingham Hoskins, was born June 19, 1919 on a farm near Churdan, Iowa.  Erma attended school in Churdan. 

Erma was united in marriage to Claude C. Mallett on November 7, 1943 at the Central Christian Church in Jefferson.  They became the parents of one daughter, Sharon.  During their married life, they were residents of Scranton, Jefferson, and Perry, Iowa.  Erma was employed in the health care field, retiring in 1975.   Claude passed away at their home in Perry on February 7, 1982.

Erma Mallett died April 1, 2008 in Waterloo, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers: Roy, Lloyd and Dale Hoskins; and four sisters: Mildred and Mabel Hoskins; Ethel Silbaugh, and Velma Albright.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Sharon Winberg and son-in-law Michael Winberg of Evansdale, IA; two grandsons: Aaron (Rebecca) Winberg of Waverly, IA and Adam Winberg of Waterloo, IA; and one great-granddaughter, Aven Emery Winberg of Waverly, IA.  Erma is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, and friends.
