Memorial Services for Kevin Wills, 9, of Jefferson, Iowa will be held 10:00am Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Jefferson-Scranton Middle School in Jefferson, Iowa.  A luncheon will be provided immediately following the ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Kevin Curtis Wills was born May 6, 1999, to Curtis and Sonya Wills at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.  Kevin attended school in the Jefferson-Scranton school district, completing grade 2.  Kevin went missing on June 29th and his body was recovered on July 3, 2008 from the Raccoon River in Jefferson, Iowa.

Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Mildred Thompson, of Boone, Iowa and his paternal aunt, LuAnne Wahl, of Jefferson, Iowa.

He is survived by his parents, Curtis and Sonya Wills of Jefferson, Iowa; two brothers, Conner and Cristian Wills of Jefferson, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Clair and Judy Wills of Jefferson, Iowa; several aunts and uncles; several cousins; and “adopted” family members who provided care for Kevin throughout his short life.

Kevin was an amazing little boy full of energy and the zest for life.  Every person who knew Kevin was impacted by his spirit and personality.  Kevin will be dearly missed by his family; classmates and friends; and his caregivers, both past and present.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Kevin Wills Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, attn: Courtney Duede, 666 Walnut St, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.  This fund will be used to provide scholarships for future special education teachers and therapists, college bound students diagnosed with autism, and to meet needs of families with one or more children diagnosed with autism.  For more information, please contact Courtney Duede at 515-943-2440.
