Funeral services for Lyle “Pat” Adamson, 94, of Jefferson, will be 10:30am Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Jefferson. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery.
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson after 9:00am Wednesday, where the family will greet friends from 7:00 – 9:00pm Wednesday.
Lyle Patrick “Pat” Adamson was born March 17, 1913, in Woodbine, Iowa. He was the son of Edmund and Ina (Hershey) Adamson.
Pat attended school in Woodbine, Iowa. After schooling he started farming with his dad.
On July 2, 1939, Pat was united in marriage to Dorothy Murphy of Bayard, Iowa. The couple farmed in Bayard, Jefferson, and Grand Junction. They continued farming until Pat retired in 1977 at which time they moved into Grand Junction. In retirement, Pat spent many happy days working for Hap Springer at Springer’s Ag.
In 2001 Pat and Dorothy moved to their present home in Jefferson. Pat entered the Jefferson Manor, now Regency Park Nursing and Rehab, in March of 2005 and resided there until his death on January 6, 2008. At the time of his death, Pat and Dorothy had been married 68 ½ years.
Pat was preceded in death by a grandson, Kriss Hoskinson; a brother, Bud; and three sisters, Ilda, Lola, and Jean.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Jefferson; five children: Janet Kennedy and her husband Richard, Judy Wessling and her husband Roger, Jill Brelsford and her husband Craig, all of Grand Junction; Jim Adamson and his wife Janet of Panora, IA and Jay Adamson and his wife Cindy of Jefferson. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
