Funeral services for LeRoy “Roy” Flook, 93, of Jefferson, formerly of Grand Junction, will be 2:00PM Monday March 24, 2008 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson; with burial in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, IA.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.

Survivors include a son, Gerald “Lloyd” Flook and his wife Mary Beth, of  Layton, Utah; and a daughter, Peggy Cronin, of Moulton, Iowa.

 

LeRoy Franklin Flook, son of Benjamin Franklin Flook and Jesse Evelyn Fish Flook, was born on the family farm northwest of Grand Junction on February 16, 1915. On January 1, 1937 Roy was united in marriage to Bernice Leota Hollar. To this union a son, Gerald Lloyd and a daughter, Peggy Louise, were born.

Roy farmed in Greene County Iowa and Big Stone County Minnesota. He also worked at Franklin Manufacturing Company in Jefferson, Iowa and later owned and operated F&C Construction, in Paton, Iowa, with his son-in-law, Don Cronin.

Roy attended the Grand Junction United Methodist Church and was a member of the local Lions Club.

Roy took pride in repairing farm equipment and anything else that needed his expertise. He was always there for his neighbors to provide his assistance and guidance in completing all tasks. Having learned carpentry from his cabinetmaker father, Roy enjoyed woodworking and building throughout his life.

LeRoy Flook, 93, died March 20, 2008 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson, Iowa where he had been a resident for 3 years. Preceeding him in death were his parents, his wife, four sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include son, Lloyd Flook and his wife, Mary Beth of Layton, Utah; daughter, Peggy Cronin of Moulton, Iowa.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Kent Flook, Boise, Idaho; Gina Walker, Jefferson, Iowa; Lisa Hostetler, Chillicothe, Missouri; Darrin Myers, West Des Moines, Iowa;  and Jeffrey Cronin, Klamath Falls, Oregon; nine great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
