Maxine Evlyn Raisch
Maxine is survived by 2 daughters: Dalieth Johnston and Alanna Husar both of Grand Junction, IA; 3 sons: Norlyn Raisch of Hickman, Nebraska, Daryl Raisch of Zephyrhills, Florida and Brian Raisch of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 sisters: Deloris Benning of Des Moines, IA and Luella Benning of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 1 brother: LeRoy Benning of Ackley, IA. Maxine Evlyn Raisch was born August 7, 1937 on the family farm near Ackley, Iowa to Edward and Christena Benning. Maxine attended Franklin County Osceola #2 Country School until the 4th grade when she transferred to Ackley Public School. After graduating from Ackley High School in 1955 Maxine went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On November 25, 1956 Maxine was married to Donald Raisch. In 1966 Maxine moved to Carroll, Iowa where she raised her 5 children as a single mother. In 1974 the family moved to Glidden, Iowa. In 1980 Maxine moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she lived until her retirement from her job at Hancock Fabric and Crafts. At the age of 45 Maxine began attending classes at Drake University where she graduated with her degree in Human Services. After her retirement Maxine moved to Grand Junction, Iowa. Maxine died on September 22, 2008 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Jefferson, Iowa. She was 71 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, and daughter Lynette Marie. Survivors include three sons: Norlyn Raisch (Cindy) of Lincoln, NE; Daryl Raisch (Julie) of Zephyr Hills, FL; Brian Raisch of Des Moines, IA; two daughters: Dalieth Johnston (Larry) of Grand Junction, IA; Alanna Husar (Mike) of Grand Junction, IA; Fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters: Deloris Benning of Des Moines, IA and Luella Benning of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother LeRoy Benning(Connie) of Ackley, IA. |
