Funeral Services for Robert, 83, of Jefferson will be 10:30 am Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, Iowa.  Interment will be in the Pilot Mound Cemetery in Pilot Mound, Iowa.  Visitation will be after 12:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2008 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Robert Lyle Wullenwaber was born July 19, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Floyd Wullenwaber and Mary Edith Parks Wullenwaber.  Robert attended school in Grand Junction, Iowa and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1943. 

On November 3, 1946, Robert was united in marriage to Darlene Marie Holmberg at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.  They remained happily married ever since.

Robert went to work at a feed mill in Jefferson where he worked for 8 years before going to work for the Department of Transportation as a Survey Party Chief.  He retired from the Department of Transportation in 1987.  Robert spent much of his time having fun as a Radio HAM operator in his spare time.  Robert also enjoyed listening and recording Dixieland music.  In his earlier years while dating and his marriage they spent time roller skating.  Bob and Darlene could be seen driving around town in Herbie, their restored 1957 Volkswagen.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.

Robert died November 22, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa.  He was 83 years old.  Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister.

Robert is survived by his wife Darlene of Jefferson, Iowa; his brothers:  Donald Wullenwaber of Arizona and Richard Wullenwaber of Perry, Iowa; many other relatives and friends.
