Funeral services for Wendell W. “Stub” Dunivan, 89, of Jefferson, will be 10:00am Friday, January 25, 2008 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, with interment in the Jefferson Cemetery. There is no visitation.
Surviving is wife, Norma Dunivan of Jefferson.
Memorials are suggested to Iowa Hospice or Central Christian Church.
Wendell W. Dunivan was born September 2, 1918 in Scranton Township, Greene County, Iowa. He was the son of Walter and Verna (Bishop) Dunivan.
Wendell served in the United States Army in the 168th Infantry from February 1941 to August 1945. He was united in marriage to Norma Ratcliff on May 28, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Wendell worked for 32 years at the Jefferson Post Office as maintenance engineer. He retired in 1983. Wendell belonged to the Central Christian Church. He belonged to the American Legion for a time, and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a former member of the Odd Fellows.
Wendell loved to fish, especially in Canada. And he enjoyed playing cards.
Wendell “Stub” Dunivan died January 22, 2008 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jefferson. He was 89 years of age. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons: Kenneth Wayne and Richard Kirk; two sisters: Dorothy Owens and Ethel Rice; and three brothers: Russell, William, and John.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, of Jefferson, IA, other relatives and friends.
