Walter L. Sellers
Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson after 12 noon Friday. The family will be present at the funeral home to greet friends from 7:00 – 9:00pm Friday. After graduation, he was employed by Oscar Mayer in Perry, Iowa, and then served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict, receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. Upon returning to Bagley, he resumed employment with Oscar Mayer, and also served in various positions within the Bagley community, including Mayor, volunteer fireman, and EMT. Upon leaving Oscar Mayer, he took over the family farm operation. Most recently, he was employed by the town of Bagley and the Bagley Locker. He enjoyed his grandchildren, dancing, and visiting with friends at the coffee shop. After a short illness, Walter L. Sellers passed away in Zion, Illinois, on March 17, 2008. He was 59 years of age. Preceding him in death were his father, George (Rusty) Sellers; sister, Carol; and sister-in-law, Vicki (Larry) Sellers. Survivors include his wife Vickie Sellers, Bagley, IA; son, Randy (Rose) Sellers, Waukee, IA; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Sengbush, West Des Moines, IA; stepdaughter, Lea (Phil Jr.) Creese, Woodward, IA; stepson Chris (Kera) Sorenson, Ames, IA and mother, Catherine Sellers, Bagley, IA. Also surviving are grandchildren Logan, Gabe (Peanut), Brenton, Trenton, and Taylor; 2 brothers, Robert Wayne (Sheri) Sellers, Missoula, MT; Larry Sellers, Scranton, IA; 4 sisters, Margaret (Kenneth) Garrison, Davenport, IA; Mary (Alvin) Clark, Yale, IA; Jane Gilliland, Farmersburg, IA and Ruth Riley, Yale, IA; many relatives and friends. Memorials in Walter Lloyd Seller’s name may be left at the funeral home. |
