Funeral Services for Bob, 51 of Jefferson will be 10:30 am Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. Interment will be in Jefferson. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.

 In lieu of flowers and Memorials are suggested to the family to establish an education fund for Nathan.
           
Bob was born on July 21, 1957, at Greene County Hospital, the first born son of Vincent and Doris (Garnett) Kennedy.  Bob attended school at Jefferson Community Schools in Jefferson, Iowa and graduated high school in 1976. While attending high school he worked at the Jefferson Bee and Herald as a pressman.  After high school he worked at Buena Vista Stationary and Printing at Storm Lake, Iowa.  While there he met his wife, Diane Maureen Kuklenz.  Bob worked at the City of Jefferson Water Department for 24 years where he earned his Grade Three Water Operator License and Grade Three Water Distribution License. On August 16, 1980, Bob and Diane were joined in marriage in Fonda, Iowa at the First Presbyterian Church.  Diane worked for the City of Jefferson as the City Clerk following their marriage.
           
Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife to Hawaii, a cruise to the Bahamas and a trip to the North Carolina coast.  He also enjoyed many camping adventures with Diane’s family.     
           
Bob and Diane adopted Nathan Robert Kennedy from South Korea on December 7, 1999.  Nathan was the pride and joy of his father, providing Bob with many years of love and enjoyment.
             
Bob was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he was on the Church Council and Faith Formation Board for several years and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Bob attended several Promise Keepers and had a strong faith in God that he passed on to his son, Nathan. 
           
Besides being a Little League Coach he was involved in several of the Last Supper Dramatizations; and a past member of the Community Players and Jaycees.
           
Bob continued his education at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa receiving his Associate of Science in Accounting in May, 2005 and continued his education at Iowa State University in Accounting until the time of his death.
           
Bob was a sports enthusiast and avid bowler.  He enjoyed watching his son, nieces, and nephews in athletics.  The Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Lakers, and Cincinnati Reds were three of his favorite sports teams.  Bob enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.  He was always working on his crosswords, and enjoyed playing trivia games.  Jeopardy was his favorite trivia show.
           
Survivors include his wife Diane and son Nathan of Jefferson;  parents Vince and Doris Kennedy of Jefferson;  sisters Becky Kennedy of Mediapolis, Iowa and Denise (Dean) Promes of Jefferson; brothers John (finacee, Renee Minnehan) of Alton, Iowa and Tom (Denise) of Jefferson; his mother and father-in-law Melvin and Lyla Kuklenz of Fonda, Iowa.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
