Clyde Harrison Clyde E. Harrison, 84, of Jefferson, died March 21, 2009 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. No services are planned. Clyde Edward Harrison of Jefferson passed away on March 21, 2009 after a long and distinguished life as a successful businessman. Lew and Pearl Harrison welcomed their only child into their hearts on March 17, 1925 in Waverly, Iowa. Clyde spent his childhood in Nashua, Iowa. After graduating from Nashua High School in 1943, Clyde continued the family car business and began to acquire additional dealerships throughout the Midwest. Clyde and Leone Huxsol were married December 9, 1946 in Giard, Iowa. The couple began their life together in Charles City, Iowa where they raised their three children: Linda (Bob) Taubenheim of Lake Bluffs, Illinois; Steve (Patty) Harrison and Gary (Julie) Harrison, all of Jefferson, Iowa. As an avid pilot, Clyde was able to travel to each of his dealerships for business. Clyde enjoyed the summers at the family’s cabin on Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota where he shared his passion for fishing and the outdoors. After retiring from the car business in 1993, Clyde was involved in selling recreational vehicles in Jefferson with his two sons. During the latter part of his life, Clyde and Leone spent their winters in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida where they welcomed their seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to spend their vacations. C.E. will be greatly missed by all that knew him and all the lives he touched. |
