Doris Hoskinson
Doris F. Hoskinson, daughter of Joe and Faye Davis was born January 10, 1926 at the farmstead in Junction Township. She attended school in Grand Junction, Iowa graduating with the Class of 1945. On December 24, 1945 Doris married Dean Hoskinson at the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction, Iowa in a double ceremony with his brother Leon Hoskinson and Marilynn Parker. Dean and Doris were married for 63 years. They were the proud parents of Dennis, Diane, Darwin and Denise. Doris was very active in the Grand Junction Methodist Church. She was a member of the U.M.W., evening circle, church choir and trustees. She always had her afternoon coffee with her friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially spoiling all the grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Faye Davis and brother Floyd (Hap) Davis. Doris is survived by her husband Dean, children Dennis Hoskinson and wife Chris of Anchorage, Alaska, Diane Ostrander and husband Dennis of Jefferson, Darwin Hoskinson and wife Kathy of Perry, Denise Jacobs and husband Jake of Grand Junction; 10 grandchildren Angela Chesler and husband Sean of State Center, David Ostrander and wife Kris of Jefferson, Matt Hoskinson and wife Nicole of Cherokee, Mark Hoskinson and wife Kris of Waterloo, Doug Jacobs and wife Brandi of Woodward, Daren Jacobs and wife Lindsay of Grand Junction, Rodney Hoskinson of Palmer, Alaska, Scott Hoskinson and wife Stacey of Anchorage, Alaska, Julie Shedlock and husband Brent of Copper Center, Alaska, SP-4 Philip Hoskinson of Fort Riley, Kansas; and a twin brother Dale of Grand Junction. |
