Funeral services for Gayle Kenan, 48, of Jamaica, Iowa, will be 10:00 a.m.  Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Bagley United Methodist Church, Bagley, Iowa.  Interment will be in the Richland Township Cemetery, Guthrie County, Iowa.

Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, where the family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Gayle Ann Kenan, 48, daughter of Lee and Mary Ann Derry, was born March 31, 1961 in Jefferson, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009.

Gayle grew up on a farm north of bagley. She graduated from Jefferson Community High School in 1980. On April 25, 1981 she married Terry Kenan in Bagley. To this union two daughters were born, Amanda Sue and Amber Lynn. In 1987, they moved to Jamaica where they made their home for 22 years.

Gayle loved to be on the farm taking care of her cows and dogs Lennon, Dozer, and Libby. She was also looking forward to becoming a grandmother in October.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Kenan of Jamaica, daughters Amanda (Toby) Miller of Bagley and Amber Kenan of Jefferson; parents Lee and MaryAnn Derry of Bagley; sister Lisa Hansen of Mitchell, SD; brother Mark (Brenda) Derry of Bagley; mother-in-law: Ada VanGundy of Bagley, IA; and brothers-in-law: Tim (Sharon) Kenan of Cherokee, IA and Tony (Linda) Kenan of Norwalk, IA; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orie and Myrtle Ott, Chet and Berneise Derry; sister-in-law Trudy Kenan; brother-in-law Jerry Hansen; father-in-law Leroy Van Gundy.
