Helen Powell
Helen Powell was born on a Greene County, Iowa farm. She was a lifelong Iowa farmer and livestock trucker with her father (Will Schilling), husband (Ray Powell), and son. She shared her love of the seasons of farming with her son, Dick W. Powell. Helen was a member of the Jefferson Doe’s, Central Christian Church, supported the 4-H county programs, participated in the Greene County Campers, and attended Greenwood Congregate meals weekly. She loved taking her grand children and great-grand children shopping, and treasured the family trip to Lake Powell in Utah. She enjoyed camping at the Iowa State Fair and traveling with friends and family. Helen also loved her dog Brittany, who was her loyal companion for 9 years. Helen inspired independence and hard work in her family. Helen was preceding in death by her husband, Ray. She is survived by son, Dick Powell of Plain, WI; four Grandchildren, Lori (Chris) Christianson of Plain, WI; Suzanne (Terry) Schifflet, Angie Powell of Minneapolis, MN and William Powell of Minneapolis, MN. Also survived by Great-Grandchildren Zach, Ben, Eric, Alex, and Baylee. |
