Memorial Services for June Farrow, 83, of Jefferson will be 10:30 am Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Central Christian Church in Jefferson. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Central Christian Church or the Greene County Medical Center Foundation.

June Elizabeth Parks Meyer Farrow, daughter of Thomas and Hazel (Germer) Parks, was born June 14, 1925 at her family home in Ogden, Iowa. She was the second born of nine children. As a child June moved with her family to Boone, Iowa. She graduated from Boone High School in 1943, and worked in the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny during World War II.

On October 25, 1943, June married Russell Luverne Meyer in Yankton, South Dakota. To this union, six children were born: Carol, Pat, Mike, Brian, Steve and Bob. June and Russ moved from Boone to Jefferson in 1949 and made their life together in Jefferson, Iowa. After Russ died in 1959, June continued her life in Jefferson with her children.

In 1970, June married Merwin Farrow. They were together in Jefferson until his death in 2000.

June worked for Iowa Electric in Jefferson for 21 years, retiring in 1986. She was active in the Central Christian Church in Jefferson, and through the years she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was director of Bible School. She also was Christian Women’s Fellowship president, Circle Leader, an Elder, and a Deacon. June volunteered with Meal on Wheels, and was a reading mentor at Jefferson Elementary School. She was also an active member of Royal Neighbors.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, two sisters and two husbands.

June is survived by her six children: Carol (Sam) Fengel of Scranton, IA; Pat (David) Luther of Jefferson, IA; Mike (Joanne) Meyer of Fort Dodge, IA; Brian Meyer of Ely, IA; Steve (Michelle) Meyer of Ely, IA; and Bob (Mary) Meyer of Calendar, IA; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.
