Funeral Services for Rosalie A. Scheuermann, 77, of Grand Junction will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, Iowa.  Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa.  Visitation will be after 1:00 pm Monday, November 30, 2009 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials for the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.

Rosalie is survived by her children:  Shanda (Jim) Hoyle of Grand Junction, IA, Kim (Karla) Scheuermann of Story City, IA and Kent (Janie) Scheuermann of Jefferson, IA.

Rosalie Ann Scheuermann was born July 23, 1932 at Malvern, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Winslow) Cox.  Esther passed away in 1934.  Rosalie then lived with her Aunt Mable and Uncle Evan Swain until the age of 9 when her father married Bertha Cox.  She was adopted by Bertha later on in life.
           
Rosalie graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1950.  She then attended Iowa School of Beauty in Des Moines.
           
On December 27, 1951, Rosie was united in marriage to Darwin Scheuermann in Jefferson, Iowa.  Rosie worked as a beautician for a few years before joining her husband and parents in the Gambles Store until 1978.  She then worked at Truck Haven, and Boorn’s, then stayed at home to babysit grandchildren.
           
Rosie’s greatest joy was teaching children to swim.  She dedicated many hours to the Grand Junction Swim Team and later in life to Red Cross swim lessons. Many of her swim students will remember being taught to swim by “Grandma Rosie”. 
           
Rosie was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and also helped her husband with Boy Scouts. 
           
Rosalie Scheuermann passed away November 23, 2009 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Jefferson.  She was 77 years of age.
           
Preceding her in death was her husband, Darwin; her parents; a son, Kenton Eugene Scheuermann; and a grandson, Logan Scheuermann.
           
Survivors include her sons: Kim (Karla) Scheuermann of Story City; Kent (Janie) Scheuermann of Jefferson; daughter Shanda (Jim) Hoyle of Grand Junction; grandchildren: Tanner (Alex) Scheuermann; Shane (Lisa) Scheuermann; J.J. (Teresa) Hoyle; Lacie (Justin) Robbins; Airicka Scheuermann; and Lyndsie (Josh) Thompson; great grandchildren: Sommer and Holden Scheuermann; Bryce, Brandon, Kaleb, and Emma Hoyle; Grant and McKinley Robbins; and Eyezayah Scheuermann.
